Is wool felt hypoallergenic?

Wool is one of nature’s finest performance fibres — soft, breathable and surprisingly practical. Unless you have a wool allergy, felted wool won’t itch or irritate your skin. Scientists consider wool to be hypoallergenic.

Does wool felt keep feet dry and comfortable all year round?

Wool’s natural structure absorbs and releases moisture with ease, keeping your feet dry and comfortable in every season. It can hold up to 30% of its own weight in moisture without ever feeling damp, and its thermal insulation works both ways — keeping warmth in when it’s cold and heat out when it’s hot.

Is wool felt water-repellent and suitable for outdoor use?

An average rain shower is no problem. Wool repels light rain and dries naturally. Just avoid heavy soaking or long walks during a downpour — Bill Ringa footwear is made for easy steps outside, not monsoon missions.

Do wool felt shoes keep their shape?

Each pair is fully stitched to prevent deformation. Over time, the felt adapts gently to the shape of your feet, creating a natural custom fit that only gets better with wear.

Does wool felt shed or pill over time?

Because wool is a living fibre, small loose hairs may appear during normal use — perfectly natural and part of its charm. Pilling is uncommon thanks to the dense felt we use; if it happens, it’s usually on the inside and easily removed by hand.

How do you clean wool felt slippers at home?

To clean your wool house shoes, simply wipe with a damp cloth or hand-wash in cold water with a mild detergent such as Woolite. Rinse thoroughly and let them air-dry at room temperature — never near direct heat.

How do I remove odour from wool felt shoes?

Wool rarely holds odour. When shoes smell, it’s bacteria breaking down sweat proteins into acids, not the wool itself. To refresh them, hand-wash or place them in the freezer for 24 hours to kill the bacteria. Avoid sprays or powders, as they can block wool’s natural breathability. Strong, soft and sustainable — that’s wool felt. The natural way to stay warm, cool and comfortable, wherever you wear them.

How do Bill Ringa slippers fit?

All Bill Ringa slippers are built on a German last with width size G ½ — about half a size wider than standard. This gives them a naturally balanced fit: comfortably close, but never tight.

Because wool is a living fibre, the felt gently moulds to your feet with wear. If they feel a touch snug at first — for instance with a higher instep or wider feet — the wool will soon adapt.

Secure, stable and effortlessly comfortable — that’s the Bill Ringa fit.

Which model is best for men with a high instep or wider feet?

All styles share the same comfortable last, though some differ slightly in how they fit. The Ease Mono was refined in 2022 for a cleaner, more structured look, which makes it feel a touch firmer across the instep. As the wool adapts, it softens and moulds naturally to your feet over time.

If you prefer a more relaxed fit from the start, we recommend the Fold or the Chelsea. Their construction and updated design offer a little extra room over the instep, delivering immediate comfort without losing the secure feel Bill Ringa is known for.

Which model is best for women with a high instep or wider feet?

Both the Chelsea F and the Flat share the same comfortable last, yet they differ slightly in how they feel. The Chelsea F fits closely around the instep — a touch snug at first — but the wool soon softens and shapes naturally to your feet for a perfect fit.

The Flat, with its open upper, gives more freedom across the instep and is an excellent choice if you have slightly wider feet. Effortless comfort, whichever style you choose.

What should I do if my Bill Ringa slippers arrive damaged?

That shouldn’t happen — and we’re sorry if it does. If your slippers arrive damaged or faulty, please contact our client support as soon as possible so we can make it right.

Include clear photos of the damage and your order number in your message. We’ll review it quickly and arrange a replacement or repair without delay.

What if my Bill Ringa slippers get damaged after I start wearing them?

Our slippers are made to last, but if something comes loose within a reasonable time after purchase — such as a pull tab — please contact our client support. We’ll assess the issue and reimburse the repair costs if it can be fixed by a local shoemaker.

In the case of the Ease Mono, we recommend taking care when putting them on, especially in the beginning. Avoid pulling too hard on the tab — the wool will soften and stretch naturally with wear.

Is normal wear and tear covered?

Natural materials like wool felt age beautifully over time. Slight changes in shape or appearance — such as softening of the felt or minor scuffs on the sole — are signs of use, not defects.

Normal wear and tear isn’t covered under warranty, but if you’re unsure whether an issue qualifies as a defect, simply contact our client support and we’ll be happy to take a look.
